Rep. Chellie Pingree (D-Maine) voted with a minority of House Democrats against tabling a resolution to impeach President Donald Trump on Tuesday, put forward by Rep. Al Green (D-Texas), based on his decision to bomb three of Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Pingree joined 78 other Democrats in voting against a motion to table Rep. Green’s resolution, “Impeaching Donald J. Trump, President of the United States, for High Crimes and Misdemeanors.”

Rep. Jared Golden (D-Maine) was one of the 128 Democrats to vote to table the resolution, along with every Republican, including Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), who vehemently opposed the Iran strikes and said on social media that they were “not constitutional.”

Rep. Green has tried to impeach President Trump numerous times, including three times already during his current term. His most recent attempt was submitted on the same day it was tabled.

“I do it because I understand that the President of the United States of America has a duty to consult Congress before taking this country to war. I do it because no one person should have the power to take over 300 million people to war without consulting with the Congress of the United States of America,” said Green.

Green also invoked the January 6, 2021, Capitol riots and called Trump an authoritarian dictator.

Pingree joined with some of the most radical members of Congress, including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), who previously called the Iran strikes an impeachable offense.

“The President’s disastrous decision to bomb Iran without authorization is a grave violation of the Constitution and Congressional War Powers. He has impulsively risked launching a war that may ensnare us for generations. It is absolutely and clearly grounds for impeachment,” she said on X.

In response, Trump took to Truth Social to urge Ocasio-Cortez to ‘make his day’ by bringing articles of impeachment.

“Stupid AOC, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, one of the ā€œdumbestā€ people in Congress, is now calling for my Impeachment, despite the fact that the Crooked and Corrupt Democrats have already done that twice before,” said Trump.

“Alexandria should go back home to Queens, where I was also brought up, and straighten out her filthy, disgusting, crime ridden streets, in the District she ā€œrepresents,ā€ and which she never goes to anymore,” he added.
