A Lewiston man was arrested last week on multiple counts of possession of sexually explicit material of a child under 12.

According to Lewiston Police, officers executed a search warrant at 118 Spring St. #2 last Thursday as part of an investigation into the dissemination of sexually explicit material of children.

Police say electronic devices were seized as part of their search.

Arrested was Calvin Shaw, who is charged with two counts of possession of sexually explicit material of a child under 12.

Shaw was taken to the Androscoggin County Jail where he is being held on $10,000 bail.

The investigation stemmed from a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to the Maine Internet Crimes Against Children Task force, and the case was assigned to the Lewiston Police Department.
