Lewiston Police officers seized fentanyl and cocaine while executing a search warrant on Tuesday, and arrested two people, including a juvenile implicated in an earlier shooting incident.

Early Tuesday morning, Lewiston officers executed a search warrant at 158 Blake Street with help from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency (MDEA) and the Maine State Police Tactical Team, because the suspects were believed to be highly dangerous.

The warrant was obtained as part of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking and a recent shots-fired incident.

During the search, police seized a major haul of narcotics including 486 grams of fentanyl and 10 grams of cocaine powder.

Officers arrested Maslah Aliyow, 28, and charged him with trafficking in scheduled drugs.

They also arrested an unnamed 17-year-old who they believe was connected to the recent shooting incident, and charged him with trafficking in scheduled drugs along with unspecified charges related to the shooting.

He was transported to the Long Creek Youth Development Center, Maine’s only juvenile detention facility.
