The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency (MDEA) arrested two people and seized over two kilograms of illegal drugs on Tuesday during a Bangor raid.

Law enforcement executed a search warrant at an apartment located at 94 Sidney Street, secured as a result of a months-long investigation into cocaine and fentanyl trafficking in the area, they said. The investigation included several undercover fentanyl purchases.

During the execution of the warrant, officers allegedly seized a full kilogram of cocaine, a full kilogram of fentanyl, and 284 gross grams of crack cocaine. They also reportedly seized two handguns and over $36,000 in suspected drug proceeds.

The investigation led to the arrest of William W. Sanchez, 39, of Waterbury, Connecticut, who was taken into custody before the search, and Eileen K. Chase, 45, of Bangor, who was arrested on Wednesday, the day following the search.

Both prisoners were transported to the Penobscot County Jail.

Sanchez faces charges for aggravated trafficking in cocaine, cocaine base, and fentanyl, and was issued a $150,000 bail.

According to his listing on the jail website, Sanchez also faces charges for owning a weapon as a prohibited person and theft.

Chase faces charges for aggravated trafficking in fentanyl and was issued a $100,000 bail.

The investigation remains ongoing, and the MDEA expects more arrests to follow as a result.
