A New Hampshire man is facing attempted murder charges after he allegedly showed up unannounced at a Lebanon, Maine, home on Monday and stabbed a man seven times.

York County Sheriff’s deputies responded at around 2:00 p.m. to reports of a “disturbance” on West Lebanon Road.

While en route, deputies received a follow-up informing them that a 52-year-old victim at the residence had been stabbed and was requesting medical attention.

Deputy Jason Solomon found the victim on the Carl Broggi Highway and summoned ambulances to the scene. Emergency personnel found the victim with seven stab wounds to his chest, face, back, and head.

Initially, the sheriff’s department reported that their investigation revealed that Jeremy Potvin, 35, of New Hampshire, was visiting the victim when an argument turned physical, and he allegedly stabbed the victim multiple times.

The Department then amended its release, claiming that Potvin showed up unannounced and began stabbing the victim, although the victim was known to Potvin.

Law enforcement began a search for Potvin, who was eventually found and arrested by officers from the Berwick Police Department.

Potvin faces attempted murder charges and is being held on a $150,000 bail. He is set to be arraigned on Wednesday.
