The Cumberland County Sheriffโ€™s Office responded to reports of a disturbance at 15 River Road on October 3. When officers arrived, they discovered Matthew Hamilton, 49, dead.

An autopsy by the Office of Maine’s Chief Medical Examiner revealed that his cause of death was a gunshot wound and the manner of death was a homicide.

Following an investigation, detectives from the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit South arrested Lynn Perkins, 37, of Standish, at around 12:40 p.m. at the same residence where Hamilton’s body was found.

The State Police said that Perkins and Hamilton were in a relationship at the time of the alleged murder.

Perkins faces murder charges and is being held without bail at the Cumberland County Jail.
