A Bangor physician was subjected to a barrage of verbal threats connected to his race inside Timber Kitchen and Bar last Saturday, an incident captured on video that has since spread widely across social media and intensified public scrutiny of how the city handles harassment and intimidation in public spaces.

The encounter, recorded by a witness and shared repeatedly online, shows a man aggressively confronting the doctor inside the Bass Park Blvd. restaurant.

Viewers quickly identified the offending individual as Robert “Bobby” Jordan. As backlash intensified across multiple platforms, Jordan deleted his Facebook account, though screenshots of past posts circulated widely among commenters.

A local doctor's life was threatened this weekend at a Bangor restaurant, and the disturbing, racist tirade was caught entirely on camera.

Bangor Police confirmed to The Maine Wire that the incident remains an “ongoing investigation,” offering no further details about the individuals involved or whether charges are expected. Officials have not addressed the timeline for concluding the investigation or clarified what steps are being taken to assess potential threats made in the video.

The Maine Wire also contacted both the Residence Inn and Timbers Kitchen and Bar to ask whether either has taken action in response to the incident or intends to comment publicly. The restaurant responded late on Monday, stating that the patron involved is a regular and valued customer while the assailant is not and that once they learned of the matter they took immediate action by contacting authorities.

Community Reaction: “Unacceptable” and “A Bad Look for Bangor”

The video sparked widespread condemnation across Facebook, X, and local community forums. Residents criticized the behavior as unacceptable, dangerous, and damaging to the city’s reputation. Many expressed concern about escalating hostility toward immigrant professionals, while others said the confrontation reflects broader tensions that city leaders have not adequately addressed.

Several Bangor residents noted that the physician remained calm during the encounter, even as the man shouted threats at him. Viewers repeatedly questioned why such an aggressive confrontation was allowed to unfold inside a busy restaurant and whether local businesses have effective protocols for handling threatening behavior.

The incident also prompted broader concerns about Bangor’s public image. Dozens of commenters argued the behavior shown in the video reflects poorly on the city and undermines efforts to attract professionals and families to the region.

Calls for Accountability Mount

As the video continues to circulate, community members are urging law enforcement and city leaders to act. Some residents are calling for criminal charges, while others want public condemnation from city officials. Without updates from police, frustration continues to grow among those demanding transparency and accountability.

As Bangor officials remain tight-lipped and the investigation moves slowly, residents say the incident has become a test of the city’s willingness to confront harassment head-on. Many argue that without swift, visible action, the message being sent is one of indifference leaving professionals, immigrants, and business owners questioning whether Bangor is prepared to protect those who call the city home.
