At 1:21 a.m. on Tuesday, NH State Troopers received a report that the Epping, NH, Police Department had briefly engaged in a pursuit of a 2026 Chevrolet Silverado truck, which allegedly fled on Route 101 westbound.
The Candia, NH, Police Department then allegedly spotted the same vehicle traveling at 105 mph.
State Trooper Brian Knell later observed the truck traveling on Interstate 93 southbound in Manchester, NH, and began a pursuit.
He caught up to the car near Exit 1 on I-293 and attempted to initiate a stop, but the vehicle allegedly fled.
The driver left the highway via Exit 4 on I-293 and entered Arnold Street in Manchester, a dead-end road.
After the driver realized the road was a dead end, he reportedly turned around and crashed into a police cruiser driven by Trooper Bryan Taylor, then struck two parked vehicles.
After the crash, the driver and his passenger allegedly exited the truck and fled on foot in separate directions.
The Manchester Police Department arrived on the scene with a drone and used it to spot the driver running south near Hill Street.
Police officers located him and took him into custody. The driver was identified as Alejandro Vargas, 27, of Lowell, Massachusetts.
At the time of his arrest, Vargas was wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service, though the NH State Police did not specify why Vargas was sought.
He was charged with felony reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, misdemeanor charges of disobeying an officer, resisting arrest, simple assault, and conduct after an accident, along with multiple other violations.
Law enforcement was unable to locate the vehicle’s passenger, who remains at large.
