On October 28, Piscataquis deputies responded at approximately 10:10 p.m. to reports of a violent assault that took place in Orneville.
Deputies arrived along with the Three Rivers Ambulance Service to discover that a male “subject” had been seriously injured and that two women had been assaulted.
The press release did not clarify whether the male “subject” was another victim, or whether he was the alleged perpetrator.
The injuries were severe enough to prompt the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit to assist in the investigation.
After over a month, the Sheriff’s Department worked with the District Attorney’s Office to secure an arrest warrant for Lindel “Anthony” Wilson, 25, of Orneville, on charges of elevated aggravated assault and aggravated assault.
Deputies took Wilson into custody on Tuesday and transported him to the Piscataquis County Jail, where he was issued a $10,000 bail.
According to the Sheriff’s Department, all parties involved in the alleged assault were known to each other prior to the incident.
Wilson appears on the Maine Sex Offender Registry, where he is a Tier III lifetime registrant following a conviction for first-degree assault and battery in South Carolina.
Wilson looked extremely pleased with himself in the mugshot taken following his Tuesday arrest.
