The Rockland and Rockport Police Departments teamed up on Saturday to arrest an alleged homeless drug trafficker who was wanted on an outstanding warrant following an investigation that began in December.

The Rockland and Rockport Police followed up on a lead in Rockport as part of a months-long investigation into a homeless woman Tianna Brancella, 30, for alleged drug trafficking.

The investigation began on December 13, when Rockland Police pulled over Brancella’s vehicle during an enforcement operation near a location suspected of involvement in drug activity.

Officers found during the stop that Brancella was out on several sets of bail conditions, including one stemming from a felony drug trafficking arrest just days before the stop.

In Brancella’s vehicle, officers reportedly discovered evidence of drug use and trafficking and seized cash and a locked container they believed was filled with drugs.

Police applied for and received a search warrant for that locked container, and a search reportedly revealed 131 grams of cocaine and 34 grams of heroin and fentanyl.

It is not clear why Brancella was free following the December incident, but police took her into custody in Rockport on Saturday on an outstanding warrant for aggravated trafficking of scheduled drugs.
