This morning, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz announced creation of the “Small Town PAC”, the Democratic Party’s latest attempt to secure leadership in small towns and red districts through recruitment of candidates featured in a new ActBlue donation portal.

The organization describes its mission in “rebuilding Democratic leadership” through “conversations about the issues that actually impact people”, reflecting on expanding voter maps while building up the party..
In an X post by Minnesota’s governor, he announced the PAC’s launch, alongside comments suggesting Democrats begin multiplying in size.

While details lack regarding operations, the PAC does feature a homepage with immediate request for donation coordinated through ActBlue – the Democratic Party’s preferred support platform outside of local nonprofits and learning centers.
The timing of the launch in partnership with ActBlue comes amid allegations of past dodged subpoenas and foreign contributions, with Republican lawmakers now demanding answers in further inquiry.

The latest grassroots effort presents as a movement, but interested progressive activists are directed to an ActBlue portal, if curious. While the concept is new, the Democrats continue living the motto “I fly, you buy” in their latest small-contribution fundraiser tied to a controversial platform.
