The Portland Press Herald actually thinks it’s in the news business.

With a blaring headline Wednesday night the paper wrote:

“Susan Collins discloses medical condition“

Talk about the obvious.

The paper was so proud of itself it boasted that Collins “said in a statement to the Press Herald Wednesday evening” she has a tremor.

The five-term senator said she has a benign “essential tremor.”

Tear up Page 1.

“Not news,” Kelly Thurston of Oxford commented on Facebook.”Been this way for years.”

“She’s had this for years,” said Nica Bates of Westbrook. “Not news.”

“An Essential tremor is a common, often inherited, neurological disorder causing involuntary, rhythmic shaking, primarily in the hands during movement,” according to the Mayo Clinic. “It is not life-threatening but is progressive, affecting daily tasks, and commonly emerges in people over 40. While the exact cause is unknown, it involves disrupted brain communication, with no cure, but manageable with medication or surgery.”

Tomorrow’s Portland Press Herald headline:

The earth is round

What’s sad is the Portland Press Herald doesn’t realize what a joke it is.

Maybe she should have disclosed this ( we have all seen it for years ) years ago, before it could be used as a cheap shot.
