The Cumberland Sheriff’s Department arrested a man on Saturday after he allegedly stabbed a wedding guest at a Raymond campground in what police believe was an unprovoked attack.

At approximately 7:03 p.m., deputies responded to Kingsley Camp Ground after reports of a man being stabbed with a knife.

Deputies arrived to discover Donald Halsing, 26, suffering from a stab wound in his chest in what police believe appeared to be an unprovoked attack during a wedding reception.

Law enforcement identified the suspect as Andrew Manderson, 26, after speaking with witnesses at the reception.

Deputies quickly located and arrested Manderson without further incident.

He was transported to the Cumberland County Jail and charged with elevated aggravated assault.

Halsing was transported to the Maine Medical Center for treatment for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Halsing’s fiancée spoke with WMTW and told the outlet that he was working as a photographer at the wedding and had no prior relation with or knowledge of any of the wedding guests.
