The suspect allegedly refused to surrender initially but was arrested without incident after a brief standoff.
The suspect was identified as a 41-year-old Westbrook man and was charged with domestic violence assault, domestic violence criminal threatening, criminal restraint, and violation of a protection order and placed on a probation hold.
Police strangely did not release the name of the suspect.
Early the next morning, police responded to a domestic violence call on Myrtle Street.

Officers eventually deployed “less-than-lethal” force to arrest the suspect.
He was charged with domestic violence assault, creating a police standoff, obstructing the report of a crime, and refusing to submit to arrest and was placed on a probation hold.
