Wood Gets Shafted: “Courageous” Democratic Candidate Responds After Party Endorses Baldacci Instead of Him

The National Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) called Democratic Congressional Candidate Jordan Wood at 1:00 a.m. to inform him that they would be endorsing his primary opponent, Joe Baldacci.

“The DCCC called at 1am last night. I have a 16-month-old. I was asleep. Apparently, they’re endorsing my opponent. It doesn’t surprise me. It energizes me. Maine picks our nominees. Not DC. Our state has made that very clear,” said Wood on X.

Wood claimed in his video that he is “energized” by the snub because “Maine does not want D.C. political elites deciding our primary.”

In the same video, he reminds Mainers that he previously served as a chief of staff in Congress, making his dig at political elites seem somewhat self-defeating.

Wood also promised in the clip that he would work to bar congress members from becoming lobbyists at the end of their political careers.

During Wood’s ill-fated Senate campaign, he barred The Maine Wire from his “Courage Not Concern” public town hall. Wood pivoted from the Senate race to run as a Democrat for Maine’s Second Congressional District after Rep. Jared Golden (D-Maine) announced that he would not be seeking re-election.

The DCCC endorsed State Sen. Joe Baldacci’s (D-Penobscot) bid for Rep. Golden’s seat as part of their “Red to Blue 2026” initiative aimed at flipping the House in Democrats’ favor.

I'm honored to be added to @dccc's Red to Blue Program! This means that:
✅Our message of serving your community and delivering for working people hits home
✅Folks recognize the energy behind this campaign
✅We have the ability to send LePage back to Florida once and for all 1/ pic.twitter.com/gkMLYEAh77

This is another of these man married to a man with an adopted kid .
Did he chest feed his baby too ?
WHY would anyone think he is a suitable candidate for the people of Maine .
He worked previously for that nut case in California Katie Porter .
Baldacci is no prize but he’s a safer choice than this “ guy “ .

Wood likes the wood, but the thing this state really doesn’t need is another Baldacci in charge of anything.
