At approximately 12:25 p.m., Officer Nathaniel Alvarado was patrolling Essex Street after receiving information about a large quantity of drug activity.

While there, Alvarado allegedly spotted a vehicle and recognized one of its passengers as Christopher Reynolds Jr., 22, of Exeter.

Reynolds was subject to an active arrest warrant, and dispatch records allegedly indicated that he was known to be armed.

Due to the potential presence of a firearm, Alvarado requested backup after confirming that Reynolds was subject to an arrest warrant.

Agents from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency (MDEA) responded to assist in the arrest.
