A Bangor woman helped police locate her laptop on Wednesday after it was allegedly stolen out of her car by a homeless 18-year-old suspect.

At approximately 8:41 a.m., a woman called Bangor police to report that her laptop and briefcase had been stolen from her vehicle while it was parked overnight on George Street.

After speaking with the victim, police received a tip from neighbors, including security footage that appeared to show a white male holding a laptop while checking car doors in the neighborhood.

At approximately 10:26 a.m., the victim called back and explained that she could track her laptop and see its location moving on a map.

As officers arrived at the laptop’s location in Coe Park near the Kenduskeag Stream trails, the victim was able to make her laptop beep.

The officer saw a man whose description allegedly matched the man from the security footage.

The officer saw the suspect allegedly throwing something in the bushes.

The suspect was identified as Angelo Harris, 18, a homeless man from Brewer, and it was learned that he was subject to an active arrest warrant.

He was arrested, and officers allegedly discovered a gun and ammunition in the nearby bushes along with large amounts of items reported stolen from prior burglaries, including bank cards and wallets, along with the stolen laptop.

Harris was charged with theft by unauthorized taking of a firearm, theft by unauthorized taking, burglary of a motor vehicle, and violating conditions of release.

It seems like any story that leads with Bangor follows with homeless man. Please elect serious people to cure the homeless epidemic and restore Bangor to it’s once mediocre status. These kids need help getting off drugs and also off the street .It should be a priority that supercedes pride crosswalks and other nonsensical wastes of money.

@ TeeBone, when was the last time democrats solved a problem they created? There is way to much money at stake to solve any of these issues. Give them needles, Narcan a place to shoot up, rinse and repeat.

Send him off to the work farm. Two years minimum to clean his system of drugs and teach him how to grow his own food and build his own tiny house. Two fences. One you shouldn’t cross, the other you won’t cross.
