Stefon Diggs has been ordered by a judge to explain his relationship with Christopher Blake Griffith in their ongoing legal dispute, according to TMZ.
Diggs was accused of having drugged, sexually assaulted and ordered an attack on Griffith at his Rockville, Maryland, residence in May 2023, Sportskeeda reports.
TMZ reported that it had obtained court documents from a civil court case showing Diggs was asked what exactly the nature of his relationship with Griffith was.
He reportedly just said “acquaintances,โ which did not satisfy the judge.
The federal jurist demanded a “truthful, complete, and non-evasive response” that also covered who else was at the residence at the time of the incident.
He is giving Diggs two weeks to answer the questions.
Diggs has filed a defamation suit against Griffith, a sports and culture marketing executive at W&L Entertainment Relations and Management and the firm’s president of entertainment marketing and sports relations.
The Pats former star wide receiver was acquitted last month of trying to strangle Jamila Adams, his personal chef and ex-girlfriend.
In a related development, Pats coach Mike Vrabel earlier this week refused to rule out bringing Diggs back to the team.
“I appreciate Stefon as a person and as a player and what he did for us last year. I’ll value that,โ Vrabel said. โHelped us win football games, helped us get to where we got, but right now I don’t think that that’s something that, you know, that we are exploring, but I would never say no.โ
The Pats released the 32-year-old Diggs in the spring.
