The Lewiston Police Department arrested a Lewiston man on Thursday after he was allegedly found in possession of child pornography.

Lewiston officers, with assistance from the Androscoggin County District Attorney’s office and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), executed a search warrant as part of an ongoing investigation into the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material.
During the warrant execution, police arrested Scott Bussiere, 56, of Lewiston, and transported him to the Androscoggin County Jail.
He faces charges of possession of sexually explicit material involving a child under 12, but more charges are expected to follow as the investigation continues.

Bussiere does not appear to have any previous convictions for sex crimes and does not currently appear on the sex offender registry.
