President Donald Trump referred to Graham Platner as a thug and speculated that he was the worst person to ever run for office during an Oval Office event after Platner’s primary victory.

“I watched that thug who’s up in Maine; he’s a thug, and they’re trying to make excuses for him. I mean, he’s worse than any human being that’s ever run for office probably,” said President Trump.

“This guy’s got a rap sheet; I’ve never seen anything like it. He’s a thug; I had to deal with thugs,” he added.

Trump on Platner: He's a thug . H's worse than any human being that's ever run for office, probably. Nobody's ever had a record like that. Schumer goes crazy over Epstein. Why aren’t they talking about him? This guy's got a rap sheet. He's a thug. I know thugs. I had to deal with… pic.twitter.com/QFDr58ybqR

Trump’s comments came during a signing event for an immigration enforcement funding bill, after national attention fell on Maine during the primary due largely to the controversies plaguing Platner’s campaign.

He criticized the Democrats in Congress for supporting Platner, who has a long history of controversial statements online, insulting a Purple Heart recipient, allegedly physically abusing an ex-girlfriend, a cheating scandal, and a Nazi tattoo that he has repeatedly lied about.

He highlighted the double standard and mused on what would happen if the Republicans ran a similar candidate.

“Can you imagine if the Republicans had him?” asked Trump. “If it meant losing the Senate, you would not let that happen.”

“There’s never been a guy like that that’s ever run for office at any level,” he added.

Despite the unrelenting stream of new controversies striking the Platner Campaign, he won the Democratic Senate primary in a landslide with 71 percent of the vote and will now face off against Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) in what promises to be one of the most interesting general elections in the nation.

I’ll go a step further. The people that voted for Platner are even worse. These folks didn’t understand earth science (Maine was under 1.5 miles of ice 10,000 years ago) but the same people never heard tell of the Russian Revolution and how “socialism” would empower individuals. All BS… Socialism does not allow individual participation in “moving forward” … it only creates the perception of citizens being involved at all junctures.
The Russian Revolution was supported by ignorant, illiterate peasants who had very few if any qualities to build a society upon.
Maybe these voters came from other states, maybe they’re just ignorant of human nature and world history.
When I travel out of state (and beyond the northeastern stupid voter region) I’m embarrassed to have that Maine license plate affixed to my vehicle….

The ANTI – Everything Clown Crowd was down on the bridge in Damariscotta today .
What a great impression this makes on all those people “ from away “ who come here in the summer time to relax and enjoy our state while on their vacations . To look at these people you’d think life here must really suck .
WTF has happened to Maine ?

The stealth jihadists, who have infiltrated all of our institutions, would’ve never happened if it weren’t for Leftist enablers. Likewise, “Porta Potty” Platner would never have gotten the traction that he did if it weren’t for Leftist enablers. Maine unquestionably has its share of useful idiots.

The President was spot on when he said that Mr. Platner is a phony. Senator King is simply disingenuous. We need to communicate to the Independents and real Democrats.

I don’t think Trump would say that Graham actually has a “rap sheet” unless Trump knew that he did

I sense that some commenters do not think that Mein Oyster Fuhrer Platner is sufficiently high class to be a Senator. Perhaps they have missed that Platner’s image of a Down East Maine Fisher Folk, with the appearance and dress of someone who sleeps under a bridge, is but a phony populist front. He comes from rich parents and was born in the rich town of Blue Hill. However, the Blue Hill private school was not good enough, so Platner’s parents shoveled him off to one of the best preparatory schools in America, Hotchkiss, where tuition is $79,000. per year. His Mother runs a high class, high price eatery, the Iron Bound, and is shown on his paperwork as his only customer for his oysters. A cheese burger there sells for $22,00. His Father bought him a house to live in, despite Platner’s having been mustered out of the military as fully mentally disabled with an annual disability pension of $ 57,600 a year for the rest of his life.
I have lived and voted in Maine since 1972 and as a ‘Nam era U S Navy Vet, I will not be voting for a fully mentally disabled man to be our Senator for the next six years.

Hey, I voted for him. You’re not qualified for office at 70+, the decline is obvious and universal.

At least he won’t suckle at the teat of Israel. Remember the Liberty. And remember how nice the new cadillacs were in ’08, where you could jerk off with a bit of privacy.

Collins is gone, she’s lost us independents. We finally got someone who isn’t a “waah, guns are scary” democrat, so she’s got nothing to offer.

No matter what this low life says, he will not make anyone’s life better he will make it worse, guaranteed. Has anyone asked him how is going to do all these great things, he cannot answer that question. This is nothing more than “hope and change” repackaged. He is the epitome of toxic masculinity, and democrats hate that, at least they say they used to. Heck he is everything democrats accuse Republicans being. Kind of hard to square that circle at least for normal people.

I voted for someone I knew to be of questionable moral character twice, Mr. President. And you’re welcome.

But maybe sit this conversation out. Just saying.

Definitely not a guy I would want my daughter to bring home and no way would I let him alone with my children. Why are these DSA candidates so skeevy?
