At approximately 6:30 p.m., law enforcement attempted to locate Nicholas J. Worthing, 38, of Pittston, who was wanted on multiple outstanding felony warrants.
He was convicted in May 2025 of stalking, but allegedly failed to appear for his sentencing hearing.
Additional warrants were issued for his arrest for failing to appear on his initial failure to appear charge.
Law enforcement allegedly spotted Worthing fleeing on foot from his residence on Worthing Road in Pittston.
A Kennebec K-9 unit was ordered to pursue Worthing and caught and subdued the suspect.
He was transported to a local hospital to be cleared for incarceration.
He was initially booked into the Kennebec County Jail before being transferred to the Somerset County Jail.
In the Kennebec facility, he was issued a summons for violation of conditions of release and refusing to submit to arrest.
While he remains incarcerated, Worthing is set to be arrested for additional charges stemming from a November 7, 2025, incident in which he allegedly used his front-end loader to destroy his neighbor’s 2008 Toyota Tacoma. For that incident, he will be charged with aggravated criminal mischief, aggravated reckless conduct, and violation of conditions of release.
Given that Worthing was arrested at his own residence, it is not clear how he was able to evade arrest for over a year.
