PORTLAND, Maine — The Portland Police Department reported warrants and violations of conditions of release as the city’s most common arrest charges during the past week, according to statistics released Tuesday.
The department publishes weekly calls-for-service data as part of what it described as an ongoing effort to provide greater transparency. Weekly arrest logs and daily media logs are also available through the city’s police statistics webpage.
Police recorded 19 warrant-related arrests during the reporting period, followed by 17 arrests for violating conditions of release.
Unlawful possession of drugs was the third-most common charge, with 12 arrests. Criminal trespass and assault each accounted for nine arrests.
Portland police also responded to 151 abandoned or disconnected 911 calls, making them the department’s most frequent category of calls for service during the week.
Officers conducted 126 motor vehicle stops and responded to 112 reports involving people bothering others. Police also performed 101 pedestrian checks and responded to 79 requests to check on someone’s well-being.
The department said officers also safely facilitated several protests held throughout the week.
