Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) announced on Thursday that all ICE agents operating in Maine have now been equipped with body-worn cameras as questions still swirl about the fatal shooting of Johan Guerrero.

“I am pleased to announce that as of today at 2pm, all ICE enforcement officers in Maine have been equipped with body-worn cameras and trained in their use,” said Sen. Collins on X.

“When I spoke with ICE Acting Director Venturella last month, he committed to deliver body-worn cameras to ICE agents across the country by the end of August. I urged him to prioritize Maine, and they have arrived more than two weeks ahead of schedule,” she added.

The ICE agents across the state have both received the cameras and been trained in their use.

The announcement comes after it was revealed that the ICE agent who shot Guerrero was not wearing a body camera, even after the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) received funding to equip all ICE agents with them nationwide.

ICE has not yet revealed the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting, and details remain sparse. ICE has notably never claimed that Guerrero was shot in self-defense.

Good .
Now there won’t be any question as to whether or not they tried to run to run the agents over with a car ….or assaulted them ..or spit on them ….or otherwise deserved what they got .
Pictures are worth a thousand words .
