The Maine State Police are investigating after two people were found dead on Wednesday in a Rumford home.

At approximately 8:53 a.m., the Rumford Police Department responded to a Franklin Street residence to conduct a welfare check.
Officers arrived to discover an adult male and an adult female dead in the home.
Rumford Police requested assistance from the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit, and detectives and the evidence response team responded to begin an investigation.
The deceased will be transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta, where autopsies will be conducted to determine the cause and manner of death.
No suspect has been arrested or identified in connection with the case.
