Democratic candidate for Maine’s 2nd Congressional District Sen. Emily Cain (D-Penobscot) launched her campaign’s first attack on two of her likely Republican opponents Thursday.
In a fundraising email, Cain campaign hand Levi Knapp said the National Republican Campaign Committee’s decision to recognize two of Cain’s Republican opponents has “made it clear that [Republicans] are going to spare no expense to buy this seat.”
Knapp further alleges that both former Senate President Kevin Raye and former State Treasurer Bruce Poliquin aim to cut Social Security and end Medicare.
“Washington Republicans want nothing more than to have another reliable vote for cutting Social Security and ending Medicare as we know it, and we need to make sure that does not happen,” writes Knapp.
Early polling has shown Cain with a lead over her Democratic primary opponents, including Senate Majority Leader Troy Jackson (D-Allagash) and darkhorse Alden Smith.

Cain displays what a hypocrite she is. She wants to talk about buying seats? Let’s ask her about all the union money she gets. I’m sure she’ll also rake in funds from the DNC, Donald Sussman and George Soros as well.
It’s clear that she’s going to run her campaign on lies and scare tactics. I have not heard Bruce or Kevin say a word about eliminating social security or medicare.
She’s despicable.
Wow, Cain talking about GOP buying seats? Look at Pinegree!
As long as GOP candidates refuse to fight for Constitutional Amendments to restore the rights off the States and the People , even clearly insane DEMs like Cain will prevail .
So Emily Cain is taking a hissy fit again. What else is new? Waa Waa!
Cain should be in prison for the fraud she was involved in with the insulate Maine debacle with a number of other dems that were lining their pockets with taxpayers money. People like that always point and lie hoping no one will see what they are doing behind everyone’s back!
Cain…following in the footsteps of Cynthia Dill…nuff saif
