Hunter Biden’s Attorney Sends Cease-and-Desist Letter to Donald Trump

An attorney for President Joe Biden’s son Hunter has sent a cease-and-desist letter to former President Donald Trump, alleging Trump’s frequent comments on social media and rallies about him “could lead to [Hunter Biden’s] or his family’s injury.”

Abbe David Lowell, who represents Hunter Biden as part of Winston & Strawn LLP, authored the letter — sent Thursday to four Trump attorneys.

“I am sending this letter to make a demand that your client, former President Donald Trump, cease and desist from making public statements about my client which are both defamatory and likely to incite Mr. Trump’s followers to take actions against Mr. Biden and which could lead to his or his family’s injury,” Lowell wrote.

Lowell goes on in the letter to say that he is “surprised to have to send this [letter]” because Trump is “currently facing enough legal problems.”

The most urgent issue, Lowell writes, is Trump’s “thinly veiled calls to action” to his “easy-to-trigger” followers.

Lowell quotes a July 11, 2023 Truth Social post from the former president:

“Weiss a COWARD, a smaller version of Bill Barr, who never had the courage to do what everyone knows should have been done. He gave out a traffic ticket instead of a death sentence…”

Lowell dismisses the response that this was a “mere figure of speech” from Trump, and uses the 2022 attack against former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul Pelosi and the Jan. 6 storming of the U.S. Capitol as examples to support that claim.

“We are just one such social media message away from another incident, and you should make clear to Mr. Trump — if you have not done so already — that Mr. Trump’s words have caused harm in the past and threaten to do so again if he does not stop,” Biden’s attorney wrote.

Lowell also defended the president’s son against suggestions made by Trump and many others on social media and elsewhere that the cocaine found at the White House earlier in July belonged to Hunter.

“You know, if Mr. Trump does not, that Mr. Biden has neither committed nor been accused of the charges that your client is claiming … and that the Biden family was not at the White House (let alone in the vestibule) in the period when the cocaine was found,” Lowell wrote.

The Secret Service closed its cocaine probe Thursday, without finding a suspect and unable to find any fingerprints, nor enough DNA, nor surveillance footage to use in their investigation.

Leave Hunter alone!! He made some mistakes m’kay? Natalie was a mature 13 yr old and seduced HIM! He was weak and grieving the loss of his brother. And everyone else was getting rich taking Ukrainian and Chinese bribes, why shouldn’t he?! Its only fair. Attacking the children of a politician is literally nazism. Just stop it!
