Biden Blames Congress for Fall of Ukrainian City

The Kremlin announced Monday that Russian forces had taken full control of the Ukrainian city Avdiivka, in a significant defeat for Ukraine, which has been treating the city as a defensive stronghold.

President Joe Biden blamed Congress for the fall of Avdiivka, using it as ammunition to push for more foreign aid payouts.

“This morning, Ukraine’s military was forced to withdraw from Avdiivka after Ukrainian soldiers had to ration ammunition due to dwindling supplies as a result of congressional inaction, resulting in Russia’s first notable gains in months,” said the White House.

The conquest of Avdiivka came as much of the U.S. House has opposed an extensive foreign aid spending package that passed through the Senate.

Ukrainian soldiers were forced to surrender their stronghold as their weapons and ammo supplies were dwindling.

Ukrainian commander Rodion Kudriashov discussed how severely Ukrainian forces were outgunned during the battle.

“If we are talking about infantry, it’s 1 to 7. If we are talking about military vehicles it’s 1 to 8 and in terms of artillery, it’s 1 to 11,” said Kudrishov.

President Biden used this information in an attempt to place blame for the defeat on the lack of more U.S. taxpayer money, suggesting that if Congress voted to give more support to Ukraine, they would be able to defeat Russia.

After the majority of Ukrainian forces were driven out of the city on Saturday, a remnant of the defenders remained inside the city’s Coke plant, but by the time Russian media announced the capture of the city on Monday, the Russian flag had been raised over the factory.

The capture of Avdiivka marks one of the most significant Russian victories since the fall of Bakmut.

Avdiivka’s fall is another significant step in Russia’s struggle for control of the Donetsk province, much of which was already under the control of Russian supporting separatists who oppose the Ukrainian government.

During the Ukrainian civil-war in 2014, Avdiivka came under the control of pro-Russian separatists, before being captured by Ukrainian government forces, making the Russian conquest of Avdiivka a symbolic, as well as a strategic victory.

Of course OBiden blames Congress for not pouring unaccountable $billions more into the black hole. It’s will cut into his grift. We should NEVER have sent the most corrupt country in Europe a nickel while opening the flood gates on our own southern border. What a disgrace!
