A Mexican national who was previously removed from the United States twice was sentenced Friday to 27 months in prison for illegally crossing the U.S.-Canada border in Hamlin, Maine.

Alberto Beltran-Martinez, 44, of Mexico pleaded guilty to entering the U.S. after a prior removal on Sept. 25, 2023, and has been incarcerated since he was arrested on April 29, 2023.

According to court records, Beltran-Martinez and six other individuals were pulled over in Hamlin near the U.S.-Canada border by a U.S. Border Patrol agent from the Van Buren Border Patrol Station.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maine said Beltran-Martinez had been previously removed from the U.S. in September 2006 at Laredo, Texas and in April 2021 at Del Rio, Texas.

The Mexican national had not obtained the express content of the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to reapply for admission into the country, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

I have a friend who is a hard working Maine native. He got one DUI and now he can never visit Canada again due to their strict border laws. How is it that all these illegals can easily cruise through Canada, multiple times, to reach our borders? There is something fishy going on in Trudeau land.I think it’s time for the Maine Wire to investigate. Keep up your great work.

The 3 illegals shooting up Saco still have not been cought and the police are not speaking. What is going on in Maine. What happened to the driver of the car with thr illegals in it last week? NY licence and a Biddeford address. Did he get a ticket, locked up or what no word from the the State. Look at the mess in Vermont a liberal run state just like Maine and my taxes are due soon.
