Following a 10-month vacancy in the role, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced Tuesday the appointment of a new Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer (CDIO) at the State Department to head their Office of Diversity and Inclusion.

Zakiya Carr Johnson, the appointee, will advance the State Department’s “deep commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA),” Blinken said in a Tuesday statement.

Johnson is a “social inclusion, diversity and equity expert and strategist” with over 20 years experience in international policy, according to her biography on the website for her organization, “Black Women Disrupt.”

She previously served as Senior Advisor and Director of the Race, Ethnicity and Social Inclusion Unit in the State Department, co-chair for the White House Inter-Agency Committee on Gender-Based Violence Monitoring and Evaluation and Senior Technical Advisor for the Social Inclusion Trust Fund at the Inter-American Development Bank.

“American diplomacy can only succeed if it fully harnesses all of the talent that our nation has to offer,” Secretary of State Blinken said. “That is why I created the position of CDIO to elevate DEIA within our organization and give it the dedicated senior-level attention that it deserves.”

“Over the past three years, the Department of State has made significant progress on this front but there remains work to be done. We will continue to pursue this mission aggressively, because recruiting, nurturing, and promoting the most capable workforce possible is critical to our national security,” Blinken said.

Blinken said that Zakiya Carr Johnson’s experience and “her previous work promoting entrepreneurship and access to opportunity for underrepresented populations, as well as her commitment to inclusive leadership make us stronger, smarter, and more innovative.”

“All of us at the Department must work to advance DEIA if we are to create the inclusive workplace environment we need to continue to attract and retain the nation’s top talent,” Blinken added. “When the people making decisions on behalf of the American people don’t reflect the full diversity of our nation, we all lose, and our national security is weaker.”

Right! Our government at all levels is certainly full of the best and brightest minds the country has to offer. 🤮

With all that is wrong in this country and a lot of it is due to clowns like Blinken, this is another waste of money for a fake, made up, totally useless gov’t position that exemplifies gov’t meddling at its best. She’ll be able to hassle whoever or whatever businesss she wants with this silly dei bs. If you put me in charge I’d fire him and then Id fire her and then I’d return your money to you. This is the kind of thing that makes you want to pull the hair out of your head.
