The Gorham Police Department is warning residents to lock their cars after responding to more than 20 motor vehicle burglaries in a single night earlier this week.

Police say that between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. on Wednesday, officers responded to between 25 to 30 reports of motor vehicle burglary.

The reported burglaries occurred in the area of South Street and several of the surrounding large neighborhoods, police said.

Gorham Police advised that residents keep their cars locked, and warned against leaving valuables visible in cars.

Police are also requesting that anyone who may have video systems in the area to check for any footage that may be useful to their investigation of the burglaries.

Gorham Police did not immediately respond to an inquiry as to whether any arrests have been made in connection to the burglaries.
