The Brewer Police Department arrested a Levant woman on burglary charges on Tuesday, just days after she was released following an arrest in Bangor on the same charge.
Brewer officers responded to North Main Street for a welfare check.
They spoke with a male witness who claimed that he saw a woman entering a residence without permission.
The officers entered the building and allegedly found Darcelle Howard, 55, of Levant, drinking coffee.
She was arrested without incident.
During the investigation, officers learned that she was subject to four active sets of bail conditions.
The Bangor Police Department also contacted Brewer officers, informing them that they were searching for Howard as part of an unrelated case.
She was transported to the Penobscot County Jail on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, and violations of conditions of release.
She was previously arrested on Thursday after she allegedly broke into a Bangor residence.
The resident allegedly came home and found Howard sleeping in his bed.
After that arrest, police learned that Howard had been involved in a previous incident in which she entered an apartment building without permission and allegedly defecated on the rug in the building’s entryway.
She was quickly released and allegedly able to commit similar crimes again in under a week.
