A “career felon” with 12 prior convictions has been sentenced to 17 years in prison for drug trafficking and firearm charges after being caught with a gun and a large amount of fentanyl during a 2023 traffic stop in Augusta, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maine announced on Monday.

Ryan Partridge, 35, of Augusta, was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Bangor to 204 months in federal prison to be followed by four years of supervised release for distributing and possessing with intent to distribute fentanyl, and possessing a gun in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

The charges against Partridge stemmed from a July 2023 traffic stop in Augusta, during which Augusta Police found a backpack with approximately 125 grams of fentanyl and a 9mm pistol inside.

Partridge, who was a passenger in the vehicle during the traffic stop, admitted to investigatorsthat the backpack and its contents belonged to him.

At the time of the traffic stop, Partridge was on probation for a 2019 conviction for aggravated trafficking of fentanyl, and had a warrant out for his arrest for failing to report a change of address.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office described Partridge as a “career criminal,” with 12 prior convictions including two drug-related felonies.

Talk about a slow walk to get this dirt bag off the streets and into the slammer.
Yet speaking seconds over the clock at a school board meeting gets you cuffed and stuffed. Jeese!
