“Now Houlton sector will be happy to help him return to his home country,” said the Houlton Border Patrol on Facebook.

According to a Tuesday press release, the Sudanese national, who was not named, served four years in prison in the U.S. for cocaine distribution. They did not explain how he avoided deportation when he was jailed for drug distribution.

The Sudanese individual has also amassed a slew of other convictions, including simple assault, resisting arrest, criminal trespass, DUI, driving after his license was revoked, and breach of bail.

An immigration judge ordered the Sudanese man’s deportation in 2019, but he never left the country. Now, Border Patrol is assisting with his removal.
