Police received multiple calls on August 26-27, reporting a series of vehicle break-ins. In two cases, the suspects allegedly smashed the windows to gain entry.

Police were able to determine that the suspects were driving an old Subaru Forester and obtained a picture of the vehicle that they then circulated to other law enforcement agencies in the region.

On Friday, a Maine State Police trooper on patrol saw and stopped the vehicle in an unspecified location in rural western Maine.

Following the stop, State Police took Lacey Norton, 30, and Kyle Fielden, 32, both of Burlington, Vermont, into custody.

They were transported to the York County Jail, where Norton faces charges of two counts of theft by deception and two counts of misuse of identification, while Fielden faces two counts of felony burglary of a motor vehicle.
