FBI agents arrested a New York man in the Bronx on Wednesday following a months-long investigation into a murder that occurred seven months ago at a home in Palmyra, Maine.

Police responded to 531 Madawaska Road in Palmyra in March after reports of a shooting and discovered Jaquan Humphries, 28, of Boston, dead from gunshot wounds. He had reportedly been staying at the Palmyra residence when he was killed.

That murder sparked a months-long investigation, that included the Maine State Police and federal law enforcement.

Law enforcement identified Kareem Quattlebaum, 38, of New York, as the alleged murderer, and the FBI New York Office took him into custody.

He is currently being held on Rikers Island, awaiting extradition to Maine.

Police did not include any details on what led to the alleged murder.
