Portland police are asking for the public’s help in an unsolved fatal incident that left a 33-year-old man dead following a large altercation outside a city nightclub sixteen years ago.

Police said Than Yim, 33, died from injuries sustained during a confrontation involving a large group of people in the parking lot of the Thanh Thanh Bida Club at 250 Read Street during the early morning hours of Dec. 20, 2009.

Authorities never released the cause of death.

Despite the passage of time, investigators continue to seek information that could help resolve the case.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Googins at 207-874-8151 or Detective Brown at 207-874-8529. Tips may also be submitted anonymously by calling the Portland Police Department’s crime tip line at 207-874-8584 or by texting the keyword “PPDME” with a message to 847411.
