The Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office arrested a Buxton woman for arson on Friday after investigators determined that she allegedly intentionally set a vehicle on fire following an argument with her boyfriend.

At approximately 6:14 p.m. on February 26, the Buxton Fire Department received multiple 911 calls reporting a burning vehicle at a Joyce Street residence in Buxton.

The Fire Department and Buxton Police Department responded to discover a red 2011 Subaru Impreza fully engulfed in flames.

The vehicle was sitting in the home’s driveway, and responders found burning clothing outside the car on the driver’s side.

After the incident, the Fire Marshal’s Office mounted an investigation and ultimately determined that the fire had allegedly been set intentionally.

On Friday, Fire Marshal’s investigators arrested Adriane Williams, 43, of Buxton on an arrest warrant for arson.

She was arrested at the York County Jail, where she was already being held on a probation hold.

Investigators believe that Williams started the fire following an argument with her boyfriend.
