The Portland Police Department arrested a homeless man on Monday morning after he allegedly severely injured a security guard.

At approximately 3:50 a.m., police responded to reports of an assault at 1 City Center.
Police arrived, and the victim was transported to Maine Medical Center for treatment.
The alleged attack was captured on security cameras, and the police were able to use the footage to obtain an image and description of the suspect.
Police began a search for the alleged attacker and eventually located him on Marginal Way at 5:21 a.m.
The suspect was arrested without incident and identified as Daniel John-Louis Noble, 31, homeless.
He was transported to the Cumberland County Jail and charged with aggravated assault, robbery, aggravated criminal trespass, criminal threatening, and theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, subsequent offense.
The Portland Police Department press release only included information on the alleged assault and did not specify what the suspect allegedly did to incur the theft and trespassing charges.

Noble was previously arrested in 2024 on charges of violating conditions of release, theft, and methamphetamine possession.
