At approximately 3:44 a.m. on Sunday, the Bangor Police Department responded to reports from a hotel on Godfrey Blvd after employees reported that an argument in one of their hallways had escalated to threats of bodily harm and potential violence.
Multiple officers responded to the hotel and discovered that the argument had moved into a hotel room.
Officers allegedly heard threats of physical violence, including threats of firearm use, from inside the room.
They decided to enter the room after they allegedly heard what they believed to be an ongoing assault.
Following an investigation, police arrested Daniel Chapman, 32, of Bangor, and transported him to the Penobscot County Jail.
He faces charges of criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, assault, and violation of conditions of release.
For unknown reasons, the Bangor Police Department failed to identify the specific hotel in their press release, but there is only one hotel on Godfrey Blvd: the Bangor Aviator Hotel.
Godfrey Blvd is the road leading to Bangor International Airport, and the hotel is directly connected to the airport via a skybridge.
