On Monday morning, the Clinton Police published an image from Clinton Variety conveniance store security footage showing a suspect.

The suspect allegedly stole from a container on the store counter meant to collect donations for Make-a-Wish.

“We’re pretty confident the Make-A-Wish Foundation was not, in fact, granting wishes for pocket cash,” said the Clinton Police

The Maine Wire reached out to the department for more details, and found that the suspect allegedly stole just approximately $10 from the donation jar.

Just 25 minutes after the department published the suspect’s photo and requested public assistance in identifying him, they located the suspect.

He was arrested and charged with theft by unauthorized taking or transfer and violating condidtions of release. He was also arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant for failing to appear in court.

The suspect was not named in the press release, but the Clinton PD told The Maine Wire that he was identified as Jacob Raymond, 32, of Waterville.
