The Portland Police Department recovered two missing teens from Gardiner early Thursday morning in a traffic stop that also led to the arrest of a 39-year-old man from Falmouth.

At approximately 3:36 a.m. Portland officers conducted a traffic stop near 1100 Brighton Ave.
During the stop, officers identified one of the three occupants as Anthony Hertzler, 39, of Falmouth.
Officers believed that he was in violation of his conditions of release after they allegedly detected the odor of alcohol.
Hertzler was arrested and charged with violation of conditions of release and transported to the Cumberland County Jail.
The vehicle’s other occupants were identified as a 15-year-old male and 16-year-old female from Gardiner who had previously been reported missing.
Portland officers reported the missing juveniles to the Gardiner Police Department, who took custody of them.
Notably, Hertzler was not charged with kidnapping in connection with the incident.
