Two juveniles were arrested this month following an extensive investigation into a string of burglaries and car thefts spanning multiple towns and two counties that began in March.

The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department took the lead on the investigation that began with the burglaries of Northeastern Firearm, G3 Firearms, and Vacationland Cannabis in Turner, along with First Due Firearms in Sabattus.

During the investigation, Androscoggin deputies linked the suspects in the burglaries to the theft of three vehicles in Portland, Westbrook, and Auburn.

The stolen vehicles were later recovered by the Westbrook Police Department and Androscoggin deputies.

The sheriff’s department secured an arrest warrant for a 16-year-old male, who was arrested by the Portland Police Department on April 2.

Weeks later, on Monday, the Portland Police arrested a second, 17-year-old male suspect on a separate warrant also obtained by the Androscoggin Sheriff’s Department.

Throughout the investigation, deputies relied on surveillance footage, forensic and digital evidence, and coordinated with multiple law enforcement agencies.

The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may follow. Law enforcement has not named the suspects due to their age.

Lets see. . . robbing gun stores, stealing cars and robbing cabanas shops will be dismissed by the Soros DA in Cumberland County as just children acting up,,,,no biggie, after all nobody was hurt and it was only guns and drugs . . just sayin for a friend

There had best be serious sentences handed down for gun theft, given how hot to trot the Mills Administration has been about restricting Mainers’ 2nd Amendment rights.

But I’m guessing that will depend on the offenders’ demographic data.
