A Rumford man is facing distracted driving charges after allegedly crashing his pickup truck through a Canton barn early Thursday morning.

At approximately 5:48 a.m., the Oxford Sheriff’s Department received a report of a single vehicle crash at 19 Turner Street in Canton.
The caller reported that a vehicle left the road and struck a residence.
Oxford deputies responded with Canton first responders.
Deputies found that a silver 2003 Chevrolet Silverado crashed into the front of a storage barn attached to the residence.
The investigation allegedly revealed that Ethyn Buotte, 26, of Rumford, was driving distracted while traveling south on Turner Street.
He reportedly took his eyes off the road and drove off the street, across a lawn, and into the barn.
He was uninjured after the crash, but distracted driving charges are pending.
His passenger, Carl Touchette, 26, of Rumford, was transported to the Rumford Hospital for treatment for minor injuries.
No one at the residence was injured.
Turner Street was limited to one lane for approximately two hours as a result of the crash.
