64-Year-Old Man Arrested for Attacking Two People with Shovel on Lewiston’s Bartlett Street

The Lewiston Police Department arrested a 64-year-old man on Wednesday, after he allegedly attacked two people with a shovel on the city’s infamous Bartlett Street.

At approximately 7:14 p.m., Lewiston officers responded to 131 Bartlett Street for reports of an assault involving a shovel.

Officers arrived to discover two injured individuals.

An investigation allegedly revealed that Micahel Andrei, 65, attacked the victims with a shovel following an altercation.

Police provided scant details on the nature of the altercation, and did not say whether the victims or Andrei were residents of 131 Bartlett.

Both victims were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

Andrei was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and assault.
