At approximately 8:30 p.m. on Pequawket Lake Road, a landowner reportedly saw a side-by-side ATV drive through his property at high speed.
The vehicle then returned a few minutes later, and the landowner got the driver to stop and warned him to slow down.
The landowner then attempted to photograph the vehicle and its license plates.
In response, the driver allegedly accelerated rapidly and struck the landowner.
The driver then reportedly continued and dragged the landowner 75 feet before he was able to extricate himself from the vehicle.
The landowner was treated at a local hospital for abrasions and contusions and was released later that night.
The Maine Warden Service is now requesting assistance in identifying the driver responsible for the alleged hit-and-run.
Authorities described the vehicle as having one bench that seats two people and a prominent bush guard. The vehicle is gray and black and was driven by a male operator in an orange shirt and had a female passenger with dark hair.
