Parental Rights Group Doubles Down on Request to Bar Platner from Schools Following Most Recent Controversy

A parental rights group doubled down on its demand that Graham Platner be barred from school property across Maine after new revelations that Platner was sending sexually explicit messages to women on Kik, a chat site described as a “predator’s paradise” by the The Center on Sexual Exploitation.

“Following additional and shocking revelations of Graham Platner’s active profile on Kik—an app widely scrutinized by law enforcement and the National Center on Sexual Exploitation as a “predator’s paradise”—Parents’ Rights in Education Maine calls on school districts and public officials across the state to prohibit Graham Platner from holding campaign rallies, political events, or public appearances on school property,” said Parents’ Rights in Education (PRE) in a Monday press release.

The latest request to bar the presumptive Democratic nominee comes after the latest barrage of internet-related controversies struck Platner’s campaign.

New reports that Platner was sending sexually explicit text messages to women while married and that he was using a sexually suggestive Kik account added to the mountain of controversies surrounding the candidate over the weekend.

Platner’s Kik account, using the same “Phustle0331” name as his now-infamous Reddit page, includes a photo of what appears to be a shirtless Platner wearing nothing but a towel while judiciously obscuring his Nazi tattoo from view.

Kik allows users as young as 18 to create anonymous accounts and has been involved in numerous cases, nationwide and in Maine, involving child sexual exploitation.

Though there is currently no indication that the candidate used the app to contact minors, the revelations were enough to prompt PRE to redouble their efforts to have him banned from schools.

The organization, under the initiative of  RSU 9 District Leader Emma Enman, began calling on school districts and officials statewide to bar Platner from schools following the release of old Reddit posts in which he admitted to masturbating in public porta potties.

“As a mother, I am deeply disturbed and disgusted by the recent graphic revelations regarding Graham Platner’s sexually deviant behaviors in public restrooms,” said Emma Enman. “Graham Platner’s past predatory behaviors must end his political rallies at schools here across Maine.”

PRE cited Maine state law that allows public sexual acts, such as those committed in porta-potties, as prosecutable indecent conduct.

The organization has also cericulated a petition where Mainers can sign their names demanding Platner be barred from schools.

While I generally agree with PRE, I think they’re going too far here.

First, a single occupancy, porta potty with the door latched is a private space, anything one may do inside there, no matter how disgusting, is done in private. I don’t see how they make this private space “public“ — and unlike the left, we don’t fabricate facts.

Second, the state of Maine does not have jurisdiction over the green zone in Iraq. I wasn’t there, but I’ve heard of a lot more going on in those porta potties, including activities involving multiple parties. David French, who was there, wrote an article article about the military having a problem with adultery.

Third, I will be very concerned if ANY candidate or incumbent politician were to be given unsupervised access to K-12 students. I would presume that there would be teachers and/or administrators, supervising the event.

When I was a classroom teacher, teaching civics, I brought in both the state trooper and a district court judge to explain the nature of their jobs and how it involved US constitution. Memory is that the judge wound up as a Federal Magistrate and I presume the trooper had a respectable career — there was no question about the moral character of either person, but both I and the principal supervised the event. It was a schoolwide assembly where other teachers were present too, both the trooper and the judge went from the teachers room to the auditorium and back to the teachers room with no individual contact with students.

I have no problem with Graham Platner being given similar access to a high school under such standards, it’ll be really nice for an 11th grade feminist to stand up and ask him about the way he’s treating his wife. These kids are gonna be adults soon. Let’s let them see the people whom they can be voting for or against in the near future.

Now as to letting him wander the halls unsupervised, I wouldn’t want Susan Collins doing that or anyone else.

And the other thing about banning Platner is that it will make him the “forbidden fruit.” The best way to get teenagers to do something is tell them not to, I’m telling them that they’re not allowed to see Platner it’s going to make them want to.

The Maine Mouth, Platner, has been giving the State of Maine disgusting coverage on all of the U S national news sites for several days. Having lived in Maine for over fifty years, his mouth, and his holding hands with Sheena Bellows, is an embarrassment to my State.
