Hunter Biden’s DC Law License Suspended Following Felony Conviction on Gun, Drug Charges

The District of Columbia Court of Appeals has suspended Hunter Biden’s license to practice law in Washington, D.C., due to his conviction on three felony counts earlier this month, according to Tuesday court filing.

Chief Judge Anna Blackburne-Rigsby wrote in the court order that Biden is “suspended immediately” from practicing law in the District of Columbia due to Biden being found guilty of three felony counts, offenses that appear to be “serious crimes” under the D.C. Bar Rules.

The president’s son, 54, was convicted by a federal jury on June 11 of three felony charges related to his purchase of a firearm in 2018 while he was addicted to crack cocaine, an addiction he lied about to a federally licensed firearm dealer on a mandatory gun purchase form.

“[T]he respondent is suspended immediately from the practice of law in the District of Columbia pending resolution of this matter,” the court order reads, directing the D.C. Bar Board on Professional Responsibility to hold a formal proceeding on “the nature of the offense and whether it involves moral turpitude.”

Biden, a Yale Law School graduate, has been licensed to practice law in D.C. since 2007, according to CBS.

A sentencing date for Biden’s federal gun trial has not yet been set, though his defense team on Monday sought for a new trial on the three felony counts, arguing a “lack of jurisdiction” in the previous trial handled by a federal court in Delaware.

So what? That’s what happens when you get convicted by a jury.
