The White House has released a statement officially opposing a bill, H.R. 8281, from Rep. Chip Roy (R-Tex.) which would require anyone registering to vote to provide proof of their U.S. citizenship.
“States already have effective safeguards in place to verify voters’ eligibility and maintain the accuracy of voter rolls. This bill would do nothing to safeguard our elections, but it would make it much harder for all eligible Americans to register to vote and increase the risk that eligible voters are purged from voter rolls,” said the White House statement “It is extraordinarily rare for noncitizens to break the law by voting in Federal elections.”
Rep. Roy’s bill, which received 194 co-sponsors, would require proof of citizenship for both in-person and mail-in voting, but allows numerous forms of identification to count as proof, including a U.S. birth certificate, or a driver’s license with Real Id.
The Biden Administration opposed the bill on the grounds that it is already illegal to vote as a non-citizen, or to make false claims about citizenship.
Although true that those acts are illegal, that fact is largely irrelevant to the bill, since it looks for proof of citizenship, which is not required.
The statement, claimed that the requirements will prevent citizens from voting, and will pose an undue burden on voters.
It is unclear how the requirements would remove citizens from voter rolls, or why any citizens would be unable to prove their citizenship.
The White House did not elaborate.
The Biden Administration also claimed that it is exceedingly rare for non-citizens to violate U.S. law by voting, although other evidence suggests otherwise.

A recent study found that between 2-5 million non-citizens are currently registered to vote in the U.S.
That study is seemingly supported by a New York Post investigation which found that 49 states, including Maine, hand out voter registration forms to welfare applicants, many of whom are illegal immigrants.
President Joe Biden was not the only Democrat to come out in opposition to the bill.
Democrat house leadership also put out a “whip question” in which the party leadership instructs members how to vote on upcoming bills, where Rep. Katherine Clark (D-Mass.) told Democrats to vote against the proof-of-citizenship bill.
“Federal law currently PROHIBITS states from verifying citizenship status during registration for federal elections. The SAVE Act requires proof of citizenship to register and would remove non-citizens from voter rolls. What are Democrats fearful of? This is basic stuff, you would think,” said Roy on X in response to Democrat opposition to his bill.
Even if Roy’s bill passes through the House, it would be unlikely to pass through the Democrat-controlled Senate, and even less likely to be signed into law by President Biden.
Let’s mail a few ballots to Guatemala, Haiti, Venezuela, Honduras, the Congo, China, and Ecuador
American or Democrat. You can’t be both.
80% to 85% of Americans want assurance that elections are legal and living U. S. Citizens, registered to vote, are protected from voting by illegal aliens.
How will Angus King vote on this bill? Will he be a traitor?
What no comments from Jared or Chellie,?
Hey White House …..fuck you .
Democrats are liars and cheaters. It’s all they’re good for.
Of course they do; Biden works for China!
Democrats continue to do all they can to get new”gimme”voters who will vote for other democrats so that they will be unbeatable and we well have to live under their one-party system. We are now headed for inflationary bankkuptcy. The perfect CLoward and Piven set-up. The republicans seem to think that playing by the rules (the laws!) will work to reform our government. It won’t!! Over the decades we have inched closer and closer to what will become bureaucratic totalitarian rule with the agreement of many republicans. “The swamp” is very self-protective and the Bidens are their creatures, as are many–mostly democrat–elected officials. We have chosen to be invaded by those who love to make government larger and hungrier. They will want what you rightly have and our government will make sure they get it. This situation is like having to call an exterminator to get rid of rodents in your home…
So much for honest elections. We may never have one again.
You all know that Tucker Carlson was talking about “ Replacement Voters “ many years ago . They called it a conspiracy theory . They lied .
They ARE replacement voters …..they will vote for whomever will feed them, house them and bow to their beliefs . Why else would the Washington establishment want 15 million people to invade the country ?
Joe Jill and Hunter Biden and the rest of his evil minions need to be voted out in November .
Look for a “ D “ after the name ….if it’s there vote against them .
These assholes need to go .

Meanwhile, over in Kali, Gavin’s “registered-to-vote” Illegals are all standing by…………….
This comment is for those crazy, anti-American Democrats who go about their lives demanding we all change laws, especially the game rules, called the U.S. Constitution, to suit them. They are a species of humans without boundaries; tremendous rule breakers; Peter Pans who never wanna grow up, who demand we all change our point of views, our beliefs, our values, our ethics to suit them. They are enamored with Marx, Lenin, and that ilk and avow to change America to that failed ideology, at all costs, using tantrums and trickery! So, it’s ok to show ID when getting married, a driver’s license, a library card, bank account, buying liquor, joining the military, getting a passport, going to school, etc, but not for voting. Like I said, crazy Democrats need to have their silly, reckless, drunken power taken away…VOTE the crazies out!!
If the White House does like what I like then why should I pay for what I do not like.
