Penobscot Sheriff’s Department deputies tracked down a fugitive on Thursday who had been on the run from drug and firearm charges since 2023.

Following a lengthy investigation, deputies took K-9 Memphis to follow up on a lead suggesting that a wanted fugitive was hiding out in Dixmont.

Deputies arrived at a Dixmont residence and located Jesse Weeman, 29, of Dixmont, and Ashley Wilber, 42, of Orrington, sitting outside in a vehicle.

Weeman was wanted on outstanding warrants from 2023 and 2024 for drug and firearm charges.

A search of the vehicle allegedly revealed methamphetamine and fentanyl, and deputies also arrested Wilber on charges of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs and violation of conditions of release.

Weeman was issued additional charges for violating conditions of release and possession of scheduled drugs, in addition to charges stemming from his warrants.
