The Maine Department of Corrections (MDOC) released additional details on Tuesday related to the ongoing search for fugitive Brian Day, 45, who allegedly escaped from the Bolduc Correctional Facility in Warren.

The MDOC notified the public on Monday that Day had fled from a Thomaston jobsite while working in the community as an inmate of the minimum security Warren facility.

Officials obtained an arrest warrant for Day and another warrant for Candice Fisher, 45, of New Hampshire, whom law enforcement believes to be assisting Day in his escape.

The MDOC reported that they are believed to be traveling in a maroon 2011 Nissan Altima.

They did not specify in what area they were last seen.

The MDOC Fugitive Investigation Apprehension Team is working with federal, state, and local law enforcement to arrest the suspects.

Anyone with information on Day or Fisher is advised to report it by calling 911 and is urged not to approach the suspects.

Day was serving out a three-and-a-half-year prison sentence for convictions for forgery, three counts of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, operating after habitual offender revocation with three prior offenses, as well as eluding an officer.

He earned community confinement and the ability to work in the community, which ultimately led to his alleged escape.
